Windows 2000 Bug

There seems to be a bad bug (Microsoft probably cells it a feature) in Windows 2000.

It manifest itself that P5 crashes, it seems when accessing for the first time a file. The problem is not reproducible and happens only spuriously, a few times a day. It is a Windows 2000 bug because we have not changed anything in the relevant code since it was first written in Pragma 4. Also the problem does not manifest itself under Windows 95 or Windows 98.

I do not know at this moment where  the problem happens because it does not manifest itself when using the debug version of Pragma 5.

To circumvent the problem we give you the P5 version with debug symbols. You also need the following DLL's that contain debugger symbols:

MFC42D.DLL
MFCO42D.DLL
MFCD42D.DLL
MSVCRTD.DLL

You can find both the P5.EXE and the DLL's in the various downloads page of our web site.

To install the P5 version with debugger symbols unzip the two files in the directory where you have P5. If you have multiple versions of P5.EXE on your machine you can put the DLL's into the following directory:

C:\WINNT\System32\

Should your machine already contain these files, do not overwrite them if they have a more recent date.

Should a crash still occur with the debugger version of P5, enter into debugger mode  and let me have all the resulting information.

Thanks for your help.
