Where do I find the explanation of the error codes of a validation?
Thethe Pragma 5 Manual contains all there is to know about a validation in the Validation section.
My vocab validates OK except for 612, 613 and 614 errors.

How do I find which item corresponds to a certain unit number?
Enter the unit number into the View Unpacked Item option in the File menu of Prutil. The item name will be displayed in the field above. Conversely, if you enter an item name the unit number will be displayed .
Help. My vocab does not validate. I crash trying to do a selective save or a merge. My backup is 6 month old. What can I do?
The entry Vocab Recovery in the Pragma 5 Manual explains what you can try to do to recover your vocab. But remember, it is much easier to keep backups. But you must validate before making a backup.
I am running Pragma 4 version 4.40 on Windows 95. Can I use the Pragma 5 utility Prutil to validate my vocab and PFM files?
Absolutely no problem. The vocab and PFM files have the same format in Pragma 4 (version 4.30 and up) and Pragma 5. Besides Prutil is much more user friendly than FILEUTIL.
